The dishes came about because someone showed me a bisque plate form I could slump clay onto. I don’t work on a wheel, so I never considered making functional ware. Well that was ridiculous, so a new discovery was made. Education never ends. The plates, as with all of my pieces, are a bit wonky. You can feel that they are hand made and even sometimes where my imprints are. I have treated the plates more as canvasses than a calm surface in which to eat.
